Rental terms & conditions

Last updated: 23 September 2026

Written to be read. If anything here is unclear, ask us before you book. we would rather explain it now than argue about it at the counter.

1. Who these terms are between

These terms govern the rental of a vehicle from Loxa Drive(“we”, “us”), whose office is at 10, Boulevard des FAR, 2ème étage, Casablanca, to the person named on the booking (“you”, “the renter”). They apply from the moment a booking is confirmed.

“The vehicle” means the car supplied under the booking. “The rental period” runs from the agreed handover time to the agreed return time.

2. Booking and payment

A booking is confirmed once the online payment is completed. That payment is 20% of the rental total, or one day's rental where that is more, and it counts towards the rental price, it is not an additional fee. The balance is payable at handover.

The minimum rental period is 3 days.

The total shown before payment is the total payable for the rental. It includes delivery and collection within the cities we serve, unlimited mileage, and VAT. We do not add airport surcharges or counter fees.

Card payments are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card number.

3. The refundable security hold

At handover we place a pre-authorisation on a credit card in the main driver's name. This covers the insurance excess. It is a hold, not a charge, and it is released after the vehicle is returned and the condition check is complete. The time it then takes to show as available depends on your bank.

The amount is 3% of the value of the vehicle in Morocco. It is stated on each vehicle's page and again before you pay for the booking. Where zero-excess cover has been purchased, the hold is reduced or not taken at all.

4. Insurance and excess

Every rental includes third-party liability cover as required by Moroccan law and collision damage cover (CDW) subject to an excess, which is the maximum you may be liable for in the event of damage. Optional zero-excess cover may be purchased at booking.

Cover does not apply where loss or damage arises from:

  • driving off sealed public roads, including dunes and unmade pistes;
  • driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
  • use by any person not named on the rental agreement as an authorised driver;
  • use for hire or reward, racing, towing, or transporting goods for commercial purposes;
  • wilful damage or use in breach of these terms.

Specific terms for tyres, glass, underbody and keys are set out in the rental agreement you sign at handover, and we will confirm them for your vehicle on request before you book.

5. Driver requirements

The main driver must be at least 21 years old and have held a valid driving licence for at least one year. Premium and prestige vehicles carry higher minimum ages and licence-held periods, which we confirm for the specific vehicle.

At handover every driver must present:

  • a valid national driving licence;
  • an International Driving Permit, where the licence is not issued in French or Arabic;
  • a passport or national identity document;
  • a credit card in the main driver's name for the security hold.

Only drivers named on the rental agreement may drive the vehicle. Additional drivers may be added at booking or at handover.

6. Use of the vehicle

Mileage is unlimited within Morocco. The vehicle must not be:

  • taken outside Morocco, including onto any ferry or across a land border;
  • driven off sealed public roads;
  • sub-let, lent, or used to carry passengers for payment;
  • used to push or tow another vehicle;
  • left unlocked or with the keys unattended, which may invalidate cover in the event of theft.

Smoking in the vehicle is not permitted.

7. Fuel

The vehicle is supplied with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank. No refuelling administration fee is charged. If the vehicle is returned short of fuel, the missing fuel is charged at the local pump price.

8. Condition, damage and the photographic record

At handover we inspect the vehicle with you and photograph its condition, including wheels, glass and roof. The same is done on return. You receive a copy of both records.

Damage that does not appear on the handover record and does appear on the return record may be charged, up to the applicable excess. Where damage is charged, we supply the two photographic records and the repair invoice within five working days.

Damage present at handover, and recorded as such, is never charged to you.

9. Delivery, collection and delays

Delivery and collection are included within the cities we serve. For airport handovers, provide your flight number: we track the arrival and do not charge for waiting time caused by a delayed flight.

The vehicle may be returned in a different city from the one it was collected in. A one-way fee then applies, shown in the total before you pay: Casablanca and Marrakech: €40; Casablanca and Tangier: €60; Marrakech and Tangier: €100. Returning it elsewhere in the same city is free.

If you will be significantly late for a non-airport handover, contact us so the booking can be held. Vehicles not collected, and not notified, within 24 hours of the agreed time may be treated as a cancellation.

10. Changes, cancellation and refunds

Cancel more than 48 hours before the handover time and the amount paid online is refunded in full. Cancellations inside 48 hours may not be refunded.

If you do not collect the vehicle and have not cancelled (a “no-show”), the amount paid online is not refunded. It compensates us for the vehicle held for you and the rental lost as a result.

Date changes are accommodated free of charge where the vehicle is available.

If we cannot supply the vehicle booked, we supply an equivalent or better at no additional cost. For vehicles in the luxury and prestige classes we confirm the specific vehicle before payment and will notify you before payment if it cannot be supplied, in which case you may take an alternative or a full refund.

11. Breakdown, accident and theft

Roadside assistance is included for the rental period. In the event of an accident you must contact us immediately, and must obtain a police report, without one, insurance cover may not apply under Moroccan law.

If the vehicle cannot be repaired within a reasonable time we will supply a replacement.

12. Traffic fines and offences

You are responsible for traffic fines, tolls and parking charges incurred during the rental period. Fines issued on the spot are payable by you at the time. Where an authority notifies us of a fine after the rental, we will pass on the notice with the evidence we receive.

13. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. We are not liable for indirect losses such as missed flights, accommodation or onward travel, except where these result from our own failure to supply a vehicle we had confirmed.

14. Complaints

Write to support@loxa-drive.com and you will receive a written response within 24 hours. Where a charge is disputed, supporting evidence is supplied within five working days.

15. Language of these terms

These terms are published in English, and the English text is the governing version. Other pages of this site are available in French, Spanish and German for convenience; where a translation of any summary of these terms differs from this English text, this English text prevails. If anything here is unclear in your language, ask us before you book and we will explain it.

16. Governing law

The rental agreement is governed by Moroccan law, and the courts of Casablanca have jurisdiction. This does not deprive a consumer resident in another country of protections available to them under the mandatory law of their own country of residence.
